Getting There
I'm just posting this so my mom can see it. (Mom, don't forget to scroll down and you can see Wendy's version.)

twist and shout
I was cruising along just fine with my Ivy League vest. I had my colors chosen and graphed out, inspired by the colors of two of my favorite creatures, Cecil and Dean-O:
So the ribbing I decided to do with light colors for the purls and the darker browns for the knits. Look how pretty.
Everything was going along so nice and smoothly until about 10 rows in I noticed that the stitches were twisted. Behold:
Now, this had happened before, and I realized it 4 rows in and began again. This time, the second time, it took me much longer to see the twist, even though I check and re-checked and checked again. What happened, I'm figuring, is that when I switched from knitting with #2s to #3s, I twisted the stitches when continuing with the larger needles. I didn't even check for a twist, thinking everything was well in hand. But no, as you can see above, I have a nice big mobius twist there. Eeerrrggghhh. I can't express just how pissed I was.
So I took the whole thing apart and started again:
It has been a learning experience, to look at it positively. I also took the opportunity to switch up the arrangement of my colors, as I'll show in the next post when my ribbing is all done. A small consolation is that I like my new color scheme better.
